“To be human is to need others, and this is no flaw or weakness”- Sue Johnson

Individual therapy

Individual therapy can be short term, complaint oriented and solution focussed, or long term, focused on insight and changing long term patterns that cause suffering and dysfunction in your life. Individual therapy begins with an intake, where we go through your current difficulties, as well as your history to examine and decide together what you would need from the therapeutic process. Complaints such as depression, anxieties, ADHD, stress, burn-out, grief, existential issues, personality and identity issues, can be dealt with. Sessions are 50 minutes.

Relationship therapy

Relationship therapy focusses on the problems in the dynamics between two people, arising from their own fears as well as the need to connect. The focus of relationship therapy is to be able to understand your own insecurities, as well as the insecurities of the other, to be able to connect and have your needs met, and meet the needs of the other, in a healthier, more loving and caring manner. Sessions are 75 minutes.

Diagnostics

Diagnostics for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) using the DIVA 5.0 and Personality disorders using the SCID-5. Diagnostics take place over 2 sessions of 90 minutes each. A report can be provided upon request.

Sessions can take place in person in Leiden, or online.

If you would like to begin with treatment, we will first set up a 15 minute phone call to discuss your difficulties, needs and questions. This call will be free of cost. As the therapeutic relationship is very important for the therapeutic process, it is important that you feel comfortable about starting your therapy journey with me. During this call, if you decide that I would not be a good match for you, let me know! I can then offer you some information about my network of other psychologists, psychotherapists and psychiatrists.
